I was shocked to read that Sen. John Warner, elected by the people of Virginia, was insulted at a recent Republican gathering (Jan. 15). That this should have happened in a state renowned for the gentility of its citizens is quite appalling.
Who is Patrick McSweeney? How dare he treat a Virginian gentleman and United States senator in such an ill-bred manner!
A public apology is demanded.
