CECIL D. BARNES

Cecil Daniel Barnes, 75, of the 400 block of Colony Ave., died Jan. 23, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Barnes was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was the owner and operator of B & B Truck Lines Inc. He was the widower of Eddie Pearl Burkett Barnes. He was a member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda B. Myers and husband Fred L. Myers of Morehead City, N.C.; one son, David Barnes and wife Sallie F. Barnes of Ahoskie; three sisters, Margaret Askew of Powellsville, N.C., Mable Mordhorst of Annandale, Va., and Virginia Woolls of Springfield, Va.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1995 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Kenneth Hall in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Roanoke Chowan Hospice. P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
