Laura Miller Dail, 79, of the 500 block of Longdale Crescent, a retired registered nurse, died Jan. 22, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Dail was born in Colerain, N.C., and was the widow of Horace Linwood Dail. Horace and Laura were married Dec. 30, 1939, in St. Brides Episcopal Church in Berkley, Va. She was a member of St. Brides Episcopal Church and the Order of Eastern Star Friendship Chapter (NU)57. She was a 1939 graduate of St. Vincent DePaul Hospital School of Nursing and was retired as a nurse from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Baccus and Jane Dail, both of Burke, Va.; and elder sister, Frances White, and a twin sister, Lorene Marshall, both of Norfolk; a grandson, Christopher D. and wife, Leslie Baccus of Gainesville, Va.; four stepgrandchildren, Kristin J. Ferguson of Morgantown, W.Va., Nicole R. Ferguson of Burke, Va., Jeremy P. Ferguson and Jenni M. Ferguson, both of Bel Air, Md.; and a son-in-law, Jeffrey E. Ferguson.
A Requiem Mass will be held at noon Thursday in St. Brides Episcopal Church by Father Michael Godderz. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. An Eastern Star service will be held at the grave. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Dail's name to Sentara Hospice or the American Lung Association.
