CORRECTIONS
The NBC show ``30 Years of National Geographic Specials,''
featured on the cover of Saturday's Television Week section, is
being pre-empted in Hampton Roads at its scheduled time, Wednesday
at 8 p.m., for a college basketball game. The National Geographic
show will air on WAVY, Channel 10, later that night at 2:40 a.m.
North Carolina, not South Carolina, has a namesake battleship as
a memorial. A Metro News story Saturday on disposing of battleships
had an error.
Also, a military brief Saturday on training exercises should have
said that the 101st Airborne Division is from Fort Campbell, Ky. The
82nd Airborne is at Fort Bragg, N.C.
A Jan. 19 Metro News article about Back Bay National Wildlife
Refuge incorrectly stated that the refuge's mission is to protect
migrating waterfowl. The refuge's mission is protect all migrating
birds, not just waterfowl.
Puerto Rico is about three times as large as Rhode Island. A
Traveler's Advisory column in the Sunday Break had an error.
An education banquet, sponsored by the Norfolk Masjid and Islamic
School, will be held Saturday in the National Guard Armory, 3777
Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A headline Monday erroneously said
the banquet would be in Virginia Beach.
