MARINERS ANNOUNCE '95 SOCCER SCHEDULE

The Hampton Roads Mariners have announced a 14-game home schedule for their inaugural season as a professional soccer team.

The Mariners, who led the USISL in attendance last year while playing as a semipro/amateur team called the Hampton Roads Hurricanes, open regular-season play at home on Apr. 15 against the Delaware Wizards. The Mariners will also play a home exhibition game with Delaware on Apr. 1.

All games, with the exception of an exhibition game with the British Royal Navy team on Apr. 23 and a league game with New Orleans on June 25, will be played at the Center for Effective Learning, located off Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach. The Royal Navy game will be played at Old Dominion and a site is yet to be determined for the New Orleans game.

The Mariners also announced ticket prices. Individual game tickets will be $5 for adults and $4 for youths. A family season ticket plan, which includes two adults and two children, is available for $225. Season tickets are $55 for adults and $45 for youths.

Season tickets include free reserved parking and admission to five women's games. The Mariners will be fielding a women's team for the first time this season.
