Katherine Smith Creecy, 84, of the 300 block of Maryland Ave., died Jan. 24, 1995.
Mrs. Creecy was born in Portsmouth and was the widow of Merritt M. Creecy. She was retired as a bookkeeper from Homestead Mutual. She was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Tidal Wave Chapter (NU)9.
Survivors include two sons, William B. Creecy and Robert P. Creecy, both of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren, Shauna Duncan and Brian Creecy.
A funeral, with an Eastern Star service, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by Dr. Ector Hamrick. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association.
