Carl E. Todd, Sr., 72, a retired warrant officer, died Jan. 22, 1995 in Norfolk.
Mr. Todd was born in Dracut, Mass. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years and was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Fleet Reserve Association, P.T. Boat Association and the U.S.S. Albany Association. A Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, he enlisted in 1939 and rose to the rank of warrant officer before being discharged in 1945. He re-enlisted later in 1945 as a seaman and again rose to the rank of chief warrant officer. He served on P.T. boats and saw action in Guadalcanal. He received the Bronze Star. He served as club manager in New London, Conn., Naval Gun Factory Washington, D.C. and Jacksonville, Fla. He also was the club manager of the Officers Club, NCO Club and 465 Club at Little Creek Amphibious Base.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret T. Todd; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl E. Todd, Jr. and Sharron Todd, both of Winchester, Va.; and two grandchildren, Melissa Stotler and Mark Todd, both of Winchester.
A memorial Mass will be held at noon Saturday at St. Mark's Catholic Church by Father Daniel Klem. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church, 1505 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464. Following the Mass, the family will receive friends at the C.P.O. Club, Little Creek Amphibious Base.
