ZENOBIA BROWN

Zenobia Brown, our beloved mother, of the 1000 block of E. Liberty St., died Jan. 23, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

She was born in Norfolk, daughter of the late John P. Brown Sr. and Bessie L. Brown. She was a nurses' assistant.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa B. Nixon of Chesapeake and Arndreer Gilchrist of Norfolk; a brother, John P. Brown Jr. of Chesapeake; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Jerry L. Nixon of Chesapeake; three surrogate children, Vivian Banks, Beverly Banks and Ricky L. Banks, all of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, with the Rev. James Anderson, Pastor, and Bishop Frank Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be in the church at 11 a.m. Friday. Family and friends will assemble at 1042 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, at noon Friday. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
