USE YOUR microwave to dry apples, says Rita Calvert of the Baltimore Sun.
Core and slice apples into 1/4-inch rings with peel. Place on paper towels. Microwave at 50 percent power for 12 to 15 minutes. Let stand overnight on a wire rack.

Coors Brewing Co. plans to build the first brewery in a ballpark, reports the Los Angeles Times.
With the call of ``play ball'' in the spring, Coors expects to brew and sell specialty beers in the SandLot Brewery at Coors Field, the Golden, Colo., home of the Colorado Rockies baseball team.
