SUFFOLK - Sit a spell and raise some money.
That's the mission of the Rock-a-Thon, the fund-raiser of the local unit of the American Cancer Society. The 15th annual event will be held Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy cafetorium.
The tally last year was about $10,000, and, ``We're trying to go higher,'' said Mona Eby Driver of the society's board of directors.
Driver, who recovered from breast cancer in 1994, said, ``This year, I plan to be much more active.''
She already worked hard to provide entertainment for the rockers and visitors. Driver will emcee the day.
