Gwen Basewit, 68, of Virginia Beach, died Jan. 23, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Basewit was born in Asbury Park, N.J. She was a 1945 graduate of East Orange High School in New Jersey.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert J. Basewit; a daughter, Karol McClelland and her husband, William Robert Jr. of Coronado, Calif.; two sisters, Beryl Horrocks of Brick Township, N.J. and Muriel Cavanaugh of Middletown, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Cinda McClelland and William Robert McClelland III.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Bill Kincaid. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
