WALTER D. OUZTS JR.

Walter Duane Ouzts Jr., 74, of the 2300 block of Court Circle, a retired U.S. Navy lieutenant, died Jan. 25, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Ouzts was born in Florence, S.C., and was retired from the Navy after 25 years. He was also retired from the Raytheon Corp. as a logistics analyst in 1978. He attended Oceana Base Chapel in Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth E. Ouzts; two daughters, Evelyn Ouzts of Hawthorne, N.J. and Nancy Ouzts of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, David Ouzts of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Peter Ouzts of Westlake, Ohio and daughter-in-law, Pamela Ouzts; a sister, Gertrude Butler of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Patrick, Ouzts, Emily Ouzts, Max Ouzts, Karen Maywhort, Jennifer VanHorn; and great-granddaughter, Karolyn Callahan.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to The Religious Offering Fund, NAS Oceana Chapel, Virginia Beach, Va. 23460.
