DOROTHY W. HORN

Dorothy Whitehurst Horn, 70, of the 300 block of George Washington Highway, N., died Wednesday in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mrs. Horn was born in the Deep Creek section of Old Norfolk County and was the daughter of the late Milton and Lois Cherry Whitehurst. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Ralph Lee Horn; one daughter, Cherry Horn Carey and son-in-law, Ronald L. Carey; three sisters, Katherine Whitehurst Barker, Nan Whitehurst Hoffler, and Eleanor Whitehurst Underhill; one brother, Frank F. Whitehurst; one granddaughter, Susan C. Smith and her husband, Lee Smith; and two grandsons, Ronald L. Carey, Jr. and his wife, Dawn, and Michael S. Carey and his wife, Holly, all of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Deep Creek Baptist Church by Dr. Roscoe Musselwhite and the Rev. Ernie Meyers. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge on Thursday from 7-8 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
