VIVIAN B. LAWSON

Vivian Beatrice ``Hattie Cal'' Lawson, 78, a resident of Manning Convalescent Home, died Jan. 24, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mrs. Lawson, a native of South Carolina, was the widow of Lafayette Holmes Lawson. She was a retired cook from Rodman's Restaurant.

Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Lawson and Larry W. Lawson, both of Chesapeake, and LaGrand H. Lawson of Winfield, Kan.; three sisters, Mary Kirby of Spartanburg, S.C., Jenny Cunningham of Glenn Springs, S.C, and Evelyn Elliott of Buffalo, S.C.; three brothers, Donald West of Spartanburg, S.C., H.J. West of Union, S.C., and Robert West of Harrisonburg, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Michael Brewer. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
