MAN DIES AFTER BEING FOUND SHOT

A man was found shot Wednesday night in a ditch along the 4700 block of Alicia Drive, just south of Independence Boulevard and the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway.

The man, believed to be in his early 30s, was taken to the Trauma Center at Virginia Beach General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His name was being withheld until relatives could be notified.

The shooting was reported at 8:09 p.m.

Police were looking for two cars that might have been involved in the incident. One was described as a light-colored BMW, possibly bearing Virginia license plates AJ 8602. The other was described as a small burgundy or brown car, possibly a Dodge.
