Jennings Denby ``JD'' Bowen, 73, of the 300 block of Tareyton Lane, died Jan. 26, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Plymouth, N.C., and had retired from Morse-Parker Auto Supply as a salesman. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel T. Bowen; two daughters, Gail Turner of Charles City, and Crystal Hoggard of Suffolk; one son, Richard Bowen of Virginia Beach; and three grandsons.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Potter. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
