East Carolina Bank will provide financing for Dare County's share of the cost of the $1.2 million Fessenden Multi-Purpose Center on Hatteras Island, county officials announced this week.
The bank will finance $750,000 at a fixed rate of 5.4 percent over 10 years.
The county will receive $75,000 in federal and state grants for the center. Construction of the facility is expected to begin May 1, with completion expected in six to eight months.
