Jesse W. Voliva, of Virginia Beach, died January 28, 1995, in Virginia Beach. Mr. Voliva, who was 78, formerly resided on Bells Road in Virginia Beach. He was born in South Norfolk, lived in Old Kempsville as a youth, and spent his married life in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Voliva attended the Virginia Beach Church of God where he held the distinction of being one of the founding members in 1949. Since then, he has served God and his church faithfully as Choir director, Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, Trustee, and in many other capacities.
Mr. Voliva is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Christo Voliva of Virginia Beach, 3 daughters and their husbands, Joan and Larry Kerns, Christine and Jim Helms, and Deborah and Randy Duncan; 2 sons and their wives, Steve and Charlotte Voliva, and David and Linda Voliva; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Loraine Trierweiler and Ruby Murphy; and 1 brother, Dallas Voliva, all of Virginia Beach.
A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 1995, in Virginia Beach Church of God on Wolfsnare and Regency Drive by Rev. Paul J. Eure and Rev. Rick G. Hocker. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach immediately following the service.
There will be a visitation Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel will be handling the arrangements.
