Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases: Chesapeake
Wayne Allen Breathwaite, 40, is wanted on six counts of auto theft.
Breathwaite is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds. He frequents areas in Chesapeake and Norfolk. Portsmouth
Over that past three weeks, several homes in the Merrifields section of the city have been burglarized.
The most recent break-in occurred in the 4100 block of Windybrow Drive on Jan. 18, sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The burglar broke a rear window to gain entry.
Among the items taken were numerous weapons: a Charter Arms .38 caliber handgun, a Ruger .357 caliber handgun, a Colt .380 caliber handgun, Browning 9mm handgun, Cobray 9mm handgun, Walther .380 caliber handgun, Kassnar .25 caliber handgun, Davis .22 caliber Derringer, two Colt .45 caliber handguns and an AK47 rifle.
Also stolen were items such as stereo equipment, cellular telephones, jewelry and compact discs. Virginia Beach
On Sunday, Jan. 8, about 12:30 p.m., a 54-year-old woman was walking in the parking lot of North Lynnhaven Mall when she was assaulted.
The woman was struck several times in the face and knocked to the ground. Her assailant fled with her purse.
The only description the woman was able to give police was that the man was black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a stocky build and weighed about 200 pounds.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3:30 p.m., an armed man who had a black ski mask covering his face entered the one-hour Moto Photo shop in the 2100 block of Coliseum Drive.
The gunman pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money. After receiving the money, he ordered employees to lay on the floor, then fled through a rear door.
The suspect is described as black, 6 feet, 180 pounds with acne. He wore a dark coat, possibly suede or leather, blue jeans and black shoes. by CNB
