LONNIE A. BRADSHAW

Lonnie August Bradshaw, 79, of the 29000 block of Round Hill Road, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He was son of the late John Walter and Annie Joyner Bradshaw. A retired farmer, he was a member of Millfield Baptist Church, Ivor. While serving as a Medic in the U.S. Army during World War II, he received the European African Middle East Service Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marion Buckland Bradshaw; a son, Denis James Bradshaw of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Susan Ann Wilfong of Winter Park, Colo.; three grandchildren, Matthew James Bradshaw, Kimberly Lynn Bradshaw and Mary Suzanne Bradshaw; a sister, Annie Mae Kennedy of Norfolk; two brothers, Willie Roy Bradshaw of Norfolk and Herman Lee Bradshaw of Franklin. He was father of the late Paul Lee Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be held in Millfield Baptist Church, Ivor, on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, at 2 p.m by the Rev. Michael W. Harrell and the Rev. Frank Crawford. Burial with military honors will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Lonnie A. Bradshaw memorial fund, c/o Mrs. Ann Martin, Treasurer, Millfield Baptist Church, P.O. Box 189, Wakefield, Va. 23888. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
