FREDERICK L. GARDNER

The Rev. Frederick L. Gardner, 51 of 20920 Glenwood Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 29, 1995.

He was a native of Hampton and was the son of the late C. Randolph and Hilda Mae Munford Gardner Sr. He was a minister for 20 years with the United Methodist Church Virginia Conference serving in Patrick Co., Westmoreland Co., Bedford Co., Campbell Co. and McKenney.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie C. Gardner; daughter, Melanie Gardner of McKenney; brother, C. Randolph Gardner Jr. of Christiansburg, Va.; aunt and uncle, Winifred and Dick Stetson of Hampton; nieces, Tamara Gardner of Mechanicsville, Va. and Sonya Gardner of Independence, Va.; and nephew, Joseph Gardner of Radford, Va.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Gordon and the Rev. Douglas Hill officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, McKenney. The family will receive friends at the residence. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church, Marcel Waters Fund, c/o Bryant Neville, Bank of McKenney, P.O. Box 370, McKenney, Va. 23872. The Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son is in charge of arrangements.
