ROSS SPATTIFOR

Ross Spattifor, 86, of the 4600 block of Valhalla Drive, died Jan. 29, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Spattifor was a native of Warren, Pa., and was retired from civil service at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 26 and Code 133 Quality Assurance Department. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, International Association of Machinists, National Council of Senior Citizens, AARP and was an active member of the Westhaven Area Civic League.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta W. Spattifor; two daughters, Betty Ann Hudson of Portsmouth and Mary Elizabeth Jackson of Victor, Mont.' four sisters, Sarah Popalia, Rose Barone, Mary Tutaro and Anna Spattifor, all of Warren, Pa.; three brothers, Thomas Spatafore, Victor Spattifor, both of Warren, Pa., and S.J. Spattifor of Martinsville, Va.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas Wood. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
