Charlie Simon Mizell Jr., 73, of the 3600 of block of Omohundro Ave. in Norfolk, died Jan. 29, 1995, in Norfolk Health Care Center.
Mr. Mizell was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, and had retired from Wright Coal and Oil Company.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lillian S. Mizell; two daughters, Carolyn M. Owens and Joyce M. Huskey, both of Portsmouth; one son, George L. Mizell Sr. of Killeen, Texas; two sisters, Vivian M. Jones of Chesapeake and Viola Vaughan of Norfolk; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Second Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Geoffrey V. Gunns. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
