Edward Bascom Hawks, 45, of the 1600 block of Village Lane, a merchant seaman, died Jan. 29, 1995, in his residence.
Survivors include a son, Justin Hawks of Reston, Va.; his mother, Charlotte Carney Hawks of Carrollton, Va.; a sister, Susan Hawks Tart of Dunn, N.C.; and two brothers, Charles Welton Hawks of Suffolk and James Carney Hawks of Portsmouth.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Bryan C. Hobson. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Cousteau Society.
