Lillian B. Everett, 94, entered into eternal rest Sun. Jan. 29, 1995 at St. Joseph Hosp. in Port Charlotte.
She was born Sept. 15, 1900, in Norfolk County and had lived in Port Charlotte for 9 years. Ms. Everett was a homemaker.
She was a member of Murdoch Bapt. Church in Port Charlotte and a former member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Norfolk, where she faithfully served on the Female Usher Board (NU)1. She was a member of the Eastern Stars in Baltimore, Md., where she resided for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elnora Everett, a brother, Robert Everett, and a sister, Cora Everett. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons and a daughter-in-law - Joseph R. Brooks Sr., Laura E. Brooks of Port Charlotte, Fla., and James H. Brooks, of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Elsie B. Boone of Norfolk, Joseph R. Brooks III of Norfolk, Albert G. Brooks of Hampton, Va., and Barrington D. Brooks of Talladega, Ala.; six great-grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Boone of Norfolk, Elsie Boone-Thompson of Ft. Lewis, Wash., Jacqueline C. Boone of Norfolk, Joseph R. Brooks IV of Chesapeake, Albert G. Brooks of Hampton and Kenneth Brooks of Hampton. Three great-great-grandchildren, Shantia Ezekiel, Christopher Boone and Avery Thompson; a sister, Verna Goode, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A church service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 1995, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Little Creek Rd. by the Rev. Dr. James H. Harris. Burial will be at Forest Lawn on Granby St., immediately following the service. Graves Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Family and friends may assemble at 7443 Hughart St.
