Evelyn Hermann McClannan, 69, of the 400 block of W. Ocean View Ave., a homemaker, died Jan. 30, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. McClannan was born in Norfolk. She was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, Miles Memorial United Methodist Church Fellowship Class, United Methodist Women, was a former member of the administrative board and was a certified Stephen Minister. She was for many years a volunteer at Norfolk General Hospital, a member of the Willoughby Civic League and The Norfolk Senior Center and was a gifted artist.
Survivors include her husband of 47 1/2 years, Oscar Y. McClannan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecelia M. and Richard Simmons of San Antonio, Texas, Caryl M. and Denny Wood of Greenville, Mich., and a daughter, Cathy A. McClannan of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Elizabeth H. Rose of Norfolk; two brothers, William J. Hermann Jr. of Virginia Beach and George M. Hermann of Norfolk; and three grandchildren, Robin Simmons of Elko, Nev., Paul Simmons of San Antonio, Texas, and Mike Wood of Greenville, Mich.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Morris Bennett and the Rev. William Acosta. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to her church in the name of Evelyn McClannan. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
