Helen Goodman Leon, 91, of the 6000 block of Auburn Dr., died Jan. 31, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Leon was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Benjamin Leon. She was a graduate of Maury High School, class of 1920. She retired from Rice's department store with over thirty years of service.
Mrs. Leon was a member of Temple Israel and its Sisterhood and was a former member of Temple Emanuel and its sisterhood for over thirty years. She was very active in many civic and religious organizations in the Tidewater area.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Green and her husband Sidney of Bethesda Md., Eleanor Lipkin and her husband Paul of Norfolk; two sisters, Mary G. Cohen of Virginia Beach, Sarah G. Miller of Clarksville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel by Rabbi Michael E. Panitz and Cantor Isaac Danker. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at 1233 Botetourt Gardens, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia.
