Shirley R. Dowtin, 58, of the 200 block of Ethel Ave., died Jan. 31, 1995 in DePaul Medical Center.
Mrs. Dowtin was born in Brunswick County, Va. She was a nurse's aide with Sentara Home Care and a member of Herald Of His Coming C.O.G.I.C., the Hospitality Committee and senior choir.
Survivors include her husband, Paul L. Dowtin; a daughter, Princess Brown of Maryland; a son, Richard S. Dowtin of Norfolk; and two brothers, Johnnie Goodrich of Lawrenceville and Clifton Goodrich of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by five children, Paul Jr., Marilyn, Marion, Gary and Renae Dowtin.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Herald Of His Coming C.O.G.I.C., Norfolk, by Elder Ronald A. Sewell. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Pretlow's Funeral Home and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 257 Ethel Ave., Norfolk, at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
