A 35-year-old Norfolk woman was raped early Tuesday morning by a man who abducted her at gunpoint, police reported Wednesday.
The woman told police she was walking to a friend's house about 2 a.m. She was in the 300 block of West 30th St. when a man approached from behind. He put a handgun to the back of her head and ordered her to walk to a vacant house, where he raped her, police reported.
The suspect then left the house, taking the woman's purse, which contained a small amount of cash.
Police are looking for a man described as a light-skinned African American, about 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing.
