The new gym at St. Matthew's Catholic School in Sherry Park, off
Indian River Road, was dedicated Tuesday by Bishop Walter Sullivan.
Kate Burlin, the school's development director, said fund-raising
for the 6,000-square-foot gym began three years ago. Donations and
PTA projects have raised $200,000 of the $430,000 goal. The school
has 530 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

basket in the new gym. The bishop missed on the first two tries, but
he made the basket on his third try.

on the prayer service, sing a song during the gym dedication.
