Regarding Guy Friddell's column of Jan. 16, in which he calls the Virginia GOP a bunch of whiners instead of winners for being upset with John Warner's presence at a Charlottesville gathering: Look who is the whiner; it's Mr. Warner himself.
When the GOP could have won with Mike Farris, and then later with Oliver North, it was John Warner who whined about our selection of candidates and took it upon himself to undermine their campaigns.
This action is what eventually caused us to get defeated, and he wonders why he wasn't given the ``hero's reception'' by his fellow party members.
