Herbert E. ``Herb'' Garrison, 59, of the 2000 block of English Ave., died Feb. 1, 1995, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Mr. Garrison was born in Wilmington, Ohio. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years and recently retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4809, the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 99 and the American Legion Post 288.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Ingle Garrison; one stepdaughter, Linda Gaspeny of Tavernier, Fla.; one son, Dennis J. Garrison, Washington Court House, Ohio; two stepsons, Michael Tucker of Chesapeake and Pat Tucker of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. Mr. Garrison is also survived by three sisters and five brothers, all of Ohio.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church by the Rev. George Sweet. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall/Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
