J. Leon Dudley Sr., 72, of the 100 block of Bryan Road, a retired land surveyor, died February 1, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Dudley was born in Norfolk, Va., and was the son of the late Linwood and Ella Dudley.
Mr. Dudley was an avid sportsman and a noted Decoy Carver. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and of Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret W. Dudley of North Carolina, a son, James L. Dudley Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Oswald A. Dudley of Norfolk, VA.; and 1 granddaughter.
A chapel service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 4, 1995, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel by Rev. Frank T. Jennings. Burial will be private at a later date.
There will be a visitation Saturday from 12 to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Knotts Island United Methodist Church Highway 615 Knotts Island, N.C. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
