Ruth Cohen Goldstein, 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital. She was born in Frederick, Md., on April 13, 1916.
Mrs. Goldstein was active in the Sisterhood of B'nai Israel Congregation, Haddassah, Council of Jewish Women, PTA, and the Stock Club. She graduated from Hagerstown High School and Temple University with a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Goldstein; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Allan Comess of Virginia Beach; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Benbassat of Gutenburg, N.J.; her sister, Shirley Magness of Philadelphia, Pa.; her brother, Albert Cohen of Frederick, Md.; and two grandchildren, Jill and Billy Comess.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday at B'nai Israel Congregation, 3116 Kecoughtan Road, Hampton, Va. 23666. Burial will follow in the Hebrew Cemetery. Memorials to the B'nai Israel Building Fund. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
