Melvin Elbert Midgett, 70, died February 2, 1995 at a Greenville hospital. He was a resident of Vintage Inn Retirement Center in Williamston, NC and was a retired auto mechanic. Mr. Midgett attended First Assembly of God in Manteo, NC and was the son of the late Jessie and Effica Midgett.
Mr. Midgett is survived by three sisters; Sirlie Midgett and Florine Pittman, both of Norfolk, VA, and Pearl Harrell of Hobgood, NC; one brother, Milton C. Midgett of Manns Harbor, NC.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford Colony Chapel with Rev. Ron Denham. A visitation will take place Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and burial will take place in the Manteo Cemetery. The family will meet at the home of Mrs. Charles Minton in Manteo.
