Detectives have arrested a 58-year-old man and charged him with committing more than 20 sex-related crimes against a 12-year-old girl, police said Thursday.
The charges against Antonio S. Galacia, of the 5800 block of S. Cherokee Cluster, include six counts of rape and sodomy, police said.
Police also charge he photographed the alleged victim while she was nude or dressed in women's lingerie. The girl and her family are acquaintances of Galacia, police spokesman Mike Carey said.
Just before midnight Tuesday, Detective Frank Wins and other officers searched Galacia's home and confiscated photographs and women's clothing and undergarments, according to court records filed Wednesday.
Galacia, a civilian meat-cutter employed by the Navy, is being held in the city jail on $100,000 bail.
The girl's identity is being withheld because of the nature of the alleged crimes.
Carey said the crimes began in June 1993, and continued until last month. On Jan. 27, the girl told Wins that Galacia photographed her in sexual situations, according to a search warrant affidavit.
Police suspect other girls may have been approached by Galacia. Investigators ask anyone with information about Galacia or suspected crimes to call Detective Wins at 427-4101, or Crime Solvers at 427-0000. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
