Betty Carter Howlin, 61, of the 1000 block of Ocean Pebbles Way, a homemaker, died Feb. 2, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mrs. Howlin was born in High Point, N.C.
Survivors include her husband, Richard P. Howlin Sr.; two daughters, Jackie L. Dayton of Carolina Beach, N.C., and Jody L. Old of Virginia Beach; six sons, Gilbert R. Howlin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ernest M. Howlin of Louisville, Ky., Richard P. Howlin Jr. and Charles B. Howlin, both of Virginia Beach, Timothy M. Howlin, U.S. Navy, and Christopher M. Howlin of Avon, Colo.; four sisters, Elizabeth C. Freeman, Ernestine C. Jordan, Wilhelmina C. Loflin and Rebecca C. Burgess; and two brothers, Charles E. Carter and Richard F. Carter, all of High Point, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Ave. Chapel, by Father Tom Carlucci. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
