QUEENIE G. COLLINS

Queenie Gordon Collins of the 1600 block of Elmwood Ave., died Jan. 31, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.

Mrs. Collins was born in Florence, S.C. She was employed in housekeeping at Norfolk State University, was a member of United House of Prayer for All People (NU)1 in Norfolk, former president of Usher Board (NU)1, member of the Senior Citizens Auxiliary, Willing Workers and the choir. She was a member of Coalition of Concerned Citizens in the Community and was the widow of William Collins Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Williams and Patricia Glover, both of Forestville, Md.; four sons, William Collins Jr. of Chesapeake, Russell Collins of New York City, James Collins of Newport News, Va., and Richard Collins of Morino Valley, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at United House of Prayer (NU)2, Berkley, 505 Main St., by Apostle William Scott. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. The remains will be ready for viewing Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Monday. The family will assemble at 1441 Plantation Lake Circle, Chesapeake, for the processional. There will be a wake service 7-8 p.m. Sunday.
