HARRY E. TRENT JR.

Harry Elmer Trent, Jr., 76, of the 3000 block of Old Mill Road, died Wednesday, February 1st in Maryview Hospital.

He was born in Norfolk County and was the son of the late Harry Elmer Trent Sr. and Emma Deal Trent. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and the Ed Cuthriell Bible Class. He retired from Masters, Mates, and Pilots Union after 32 years as a second mate in the Merchant Marine. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby C. Trent, and two daughters, Ann Trent Pitt and Leslie Allman of Virginia Beach, a sister Dorothy Smither of Suffolk and two grandchildren and three step-children, Marvin Culpepper, Jr., Gayle Culpepper Hughes, Michael Culpepper, and five step-grandchildren.

The memorial service was at Deep Creek Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. Ernie Myers and Dr. Roscoe A. Musselwhite. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Gideon Living Memorial Bibles. The family will receive friends at 3027 Old Mill Road. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
