Mrs. Mabel Drewry Lowe, 99, of Rt. 1, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Friday, Feb. 3, 1995, at Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was the widow of St. Luke Lowe and daughter of the late Robert Edwards & Ellen Hatfield Drewry. She had been a member of Black Creek Baptist Church since 1903.
She is survived by five daughters, Inez L. Holt and Louise L. Holt, both of Ivor, Elise L. Asbell, Suffolk, Helen L. Warren, Suffolk, and Mabel Juanita Rousse, Raceland, LA, a son, Haywood G. Lowe, Ivor, 26 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 43 great-great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Sadie L. Turner and grandmother of the late Merle R. Holt.
Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield on Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at 2:00 P.M. The burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Rescue Squad. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield is handling arrangements.
