Rudolph N. Taylor, Sr., 77, of 309 Taft Drive, died Friday at Maryview Hospital. He was a native of Chowan County, NC, and had retired as a laborer from Colonial Stores. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Taylor; a son, Rudolph N. Taylor, Jr., of Portsmouth, VA; five daughters, Minister Jacqueline Clinkscales, of New Britain, CT; Vernell Taylor, of Fort Washington, MD; Evelyn Taylor, Vonzelle Edwards and Loretta Holland of Portsmouth, VA; two brothers, Ercell Taylor of Waterbury, CT, and John Taylor, of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Doris Parker of Waterbury, CT and Ernestine Langston of Suffolk, VA; two sons-in-law, Revs. George Edwards and Glen Clinkscales, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Baptist Church, 2710 Columbus Ave, Portsmouth, VA, by the Rev. Curtis Edmonds. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
