Lee Roy Twiford, Sr., 76, of 5405 Morris Neck Rd., died Friday, February 3, 1995, in Hillhaven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Virginia Beach. He was a native and lifelong resident of Princess Anne County.
He was the beloved husband of Hazel Sawyer Twiford. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II; he retired in 1969 after 26 years as a mechanic at Oceana Naval Air Station; and in 1979, retired after 10 years as a mechanic with the City of Virginia Beach.
In addition to his beloved wife Hazel, he is survived by two daughters, Frances T. Dixon and Serena T. Conboy; two sons, Lee Roy Twiford, Jr. and Richard J. Twiford, all of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Luther E. Twiford of Virginia Beach and Marvin J. Twiford of Woodbridge; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, February 6th at 11:00 a.m. in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gum Bridge Rd. by Rev. John F. Shappell. The family will be in the Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel tonight from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. to receive friends, and other times at 4848 Morris Neck Rd., 23457.
