JONES NO HOTHEAD

Your newspaper recently described Del. Jerrauld Jones as an ``occasional hothead'' (news, ``Who's who,'' Jan. 11).

I am sure that your writer does not know Jerrauld Jones. Hotheadedness implies impetuousness, or lack of control of one's temper. This does not at all describe Delegate Jones. He is indeed passionate, and he is deeply committed to those causes which he holds dear. But he is always in control.

Words mean a lot. In your business, especially, you should choose them more carefully. Your readers and Mr. Jones deserve better.
