JAMES M. RIGDON

James Marion Rigdon, 66, of 881 N. George Washington Highway, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Rigdon was a native of Gaffney, S.C. He had retired from Whitehurst Paving Co. as a truck driver and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine A. Rigdon; three daughters, Joyce Ann Novak and Sandra Fay Lewis, both of Chesapeake and Jo Anne Landgrave of Houston, Texas; three sons, James Earl Rigdon of Portsmouth and Ronald Wayne Rigdon and Ricky Joe Rigdon, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Anna Mae Smith of Gaffney, S.C.; two brothers, Eugene Rigdon and Lawson Rigdon, both of Virginia Beach; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by Mr. Jackson Joyner. Burial with Navy honors will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and will also be at 1209 Wormington Drive, Chesapeake. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
