Rainey Dilday Umphlett, 86, of the 1000 block of Academy St., a retired seamstress, died Feb. 6, 1995, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Umphlett was born in Hertford County, N.C. She retired from Ahoskie Department Store, was a member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church and the widow of Lannie G. Umphlett.
Survivors include two sisters, Viola Dilday and Lila Dilday Godwin, both of Ahoskie; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ray Turner of Hampton, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by Dr. Jesse J. Croom. Burial will be in Ahoskie Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Rachael Modlin, Route 3, Ahoskie.
