Vernon Jones, Sr. of the 1900 block of Springfield Ave., died Feb. 4, 1995 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Jones was born in Norfolk, Va. He was owner of Jones Body and Fender and a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Winifred Jones; two sons, Vernon Jones, Jr. of Virginia Beach and Ronnie Jones of Smyrna, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Miles of San Diego, Calif. and Annette Walker of Perris, Calif.; one stepson, Jimmie Brown of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Mildred Walker and Helen Jones, both of Norfolk; and his three brothers, Raymond Jones, Sr. of Chesapeake, Daniel Jones of Edenton, N.C. and Linwood Jones of Portsmouth and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hermon Baptist Church by the Rev. Steven Lewis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk is handling arrangements. The family will assemble at the residence the day of the service.
