Katherine ``Kay'' H. Mathews, age 42, of the 800 block of Woodshire Court, Chesapeake, VA, died in her residence Sunday, February 5, 1995. She was the daughter of Fred T. Mathews of Portsmouth and Marian Elliott Mathews of Elizabeth City, N.C., and the wife of Billy Dunn of the home. She was also the paternal granddaughter of the late Fred T. and Hazel K. Mathews and the maternal granddaughter of Katherine W. Charles of Elizabeth City and the Late Henry Elliott. Mrs. Mathews was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., on January 11, 1953, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Club in Chesapeake.
Besides her parents, husband and maternal grandmother, she is survived by 1 son, Michael F. Odom of Chesapeake; 1 sister, Betsy M. Rhodes of Virginia Beach; 2 brothers, Fred Mathews III and Martin Mathews, both of Virginia Beach, father and mother-in-law, William H. and Barbara F. Dunn of Portsmouth; Shirley Gilbert of Portsmouth.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Wednesday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Davidson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Cedar Wood Cemetery in Hertford, N.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening 7:00 until 9:00 PM. Twiford's Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is in charge of arrangements.
