BILLIE DAVIS

Billie Davis ``Chesapeake's Vegetable Man'', 62, of 2928 Sunrise Avenue, died Sunday, February 5, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital. A native of Castille, North Carolina, he was retired after 37 years at Farm Fresh, Inc. He was a member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance where he served on the Deacon Board and the Male Usher Board.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Melissa Richardson Davis; two daughters, Maxine Davis Moore of Chesapeake, Va. and Nancy Davis Peele of Suffolk, Va.; two sons, Jerry Davis of Virginia Beach, Va. and Borbie Lee Davis of Chesapeake, Va; two sisters, Christine Alston and Hattie Marie Day of Louisburg, North Carolina; one brother, Albert Davis of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday at the Holy Light Church of Deliverance in Portsmouth, Va. by Elder Samuel L. Carruth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will be at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family will be at the residence the day of the service.
