GARNETT W. STEVENS

Garnett Walter ``Steve'' Stevens, 76, of the 1400 block of Tatemstown Road, died Feb. 6, 1995, in Norfolk Hospital.

He was a native of Speedwell, Va., and was a retired longshoreman from Union Local (NU)970 with 27 years experience.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Dutton Stevens; one daughter, Sheila S. Payne of Stump Pt., N.C.; three sons, James G. Stevens of Lynchburg, William G. Stevens of Norfolk and Thomas C. Stevens of Chesapeake; one sister, Virginia Hardin of Leemont, Ill., three brothers, Arthur Stevens of Martinsville, Va., Quincy Stevens of Columbia, S.C., and Richard Stevens of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchidlren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Gary McClenney. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
