RUTH C. BOND

Ruth Crawford Bond, 82, of the 3500 block of Old Mill Road, a homemaker, died Feb. 5, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Bond was born in Bluefield, W.Va. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, was the widow of Leonard D. Bond and was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph French Crawford and Nellie Cline Crawford.

Survivors include three daughters, Billie Bond Todd and Judith Bond Hackworth, both of Chesapeake, and Barbara Bond Lupton of Roanoke, Va.; three sisters, Lucille Crawford and Janet Crawford, both of Bluefield, W.Va., and Dawn Ricketts of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Frances Crawford of Salem, Va.; a brother, Joseph French Crawford Jr. of Dayton, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Keith Morrison of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, Eddie Lupton, Cheryl Todd, Kenny Todd, Brian Hackworth, Jeremy Hackworth and Heather Hackworth, all of Chesapeake, and Kim Journell, Angie Lupton, Melanie Nichols and Tracy Lupton, all of Roanoke; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernie Myers. Burial will be in Carey-Bond Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at 3204 Pioneer Lane, Chesapeake.
